Duties and Authorities:

  • Preparing and upgrading the necessary hardware and software infrastructure for the center to have high-speed internal (local), national (intranet), and global (internet) cyber connectivity.
  • Supporting the center’s website in terms of design and content, and updating the necessary information.
  • Providing hardware and software support for the center’s computers, network operations, internet, and the Breid system.
  • Managing high-speed internet bandwidth and implementing an account system.
  • Procuring IT equipment (computers and necessary peripherals, components, etc.) in coordination with the procurement unit.
  • Conducting periodic inspections of the center’s computers and updating system profiles throughout the year.
  • Upgrading the hardware and software of student site computers and other units’ computers.
  • Providing expert opinions on using smart equipment for holding educational classes in coordination with the education management.
  • Offering expert opinions on procuring and using application software needed by the center, identifying reputable contracting companies in the IT field, and supervising their work during their activities.
  • Enhancing internal network security by using relevant hardware and software (firewalls, antivirus programs, etc.).
  • Upgrading the hardware, software, and necessary peripherals for the server room according to the server room guidelines and conditions.
  • Improving IT knowledge among colleagues by providing related content in the IT section.
  • Executing all unit tasks according to standard procedures and forms prepared within the ISO 2008 framework.

 


 

Unit Introduction:

The IT unit operates broadly in three areas:

  1. Network support and internet services.
  2. Hardware and software support for computers.
  3. Support for the center’s website.
